Bachelorette Parties: Caviar Chic, Frugally Fun
Everyone wants to throw their girlfriend a once-in-a-lifetime, no regrets, tell-your-grandchildren-about-it bachelorette party. But barring a Kardashian budget, most of us have to settle for a Friday night done right.
There is good news for the penny-pinching party planner in all of us, however, and that is there are ways to throw a memorable bash without taking out a second mortgage. The following tips will help you put together the perfect bachelorette party, whether it’s an intimate evening at home or a week in paradise.
The no cash bash
There are dozens of direct-to-consumer companies out there, many of which offer free at-home parties with incentives for the host, in this case, the bride-to-be. Some of the most popular include LuLaRoe, Premiere Designs jewelry, and, for the less bashful crowd, Pure Romance. It’s possible to get your adult beverages for nothing, too; some companies offer boutique wine tastings at your location.
You can schedule multiple parties at the same time, especially if you anticipate lots of guests. Aside from not being out-of-pocket, the guest of honor will rack up on free gifts. Since these businesses are operated by independent franchise owners, many also offer monthly specials, including gift card drawings and additionally-discounted merchandise.
Vacation or staycation?
Fewer things could be more fun than a weekend road trip with your favorite girls. And, aside from the cost of gas, food, and a couple nights’ hotel accommodations, hitting the highway isn’t cost prohibitive. Plan your route ahead of time and take advantage of hotel loyalty programs. Hilton Honors, for example, offers a guaranteed discount for members, along with free Wi-Fi and the ability to collect points that can be used to purchase future stays and merchandise through the Hilton Honors Shopping Mall. Certain hotels, including Embassy Suites, provide free breakfast and an open bar at cocktail hour. If you plan to rent a car for your exciting excursion, compare prices and pay in advance, which often reduces the price drastically.
You can explore on a budget almost anywhere in the US. If you want to stay in Los Angeles, there are tons of places worth exploring, and some of them are free! Staycations can be just as fun as long-distance traveling, and they make for great money savers. Turnkey shows that it’s easy to find available homes in your desired time frame and that are close to places of interest. You can stay in Santa Monica for a beach-themed staycation, or choose Silverlake if you want quick access to Griffith Park or a variety of vintage clothing stores.
