Kylie and Will reached out to me asking if I could take adoption profile photos for them. They had been struggling with infertility for seven years. They went through IUI and several rounds of IVF. They lost five babies in that time. Kylie and Will said infertility is something they never wish on anyone. It tested all aspects of their life.
Will was there for Kylie for every appointment, every blood draw, acupuncture appointment, all of it. Kylie told me there was nothing more she wanted than to give Will a child. She knew he would make the best dad.
In August of 2019 they had their final miscarriage and decided they were done with IVF. They just wanted a baby, and wanted to be parents. Having a biological baby was not what was important to them.
In November of 2019 Kylie and Will chose an adoption agency and went through a home study process and started building their adoption profile, which is where I came in! I got to capture their love, their infectious smiles, and what they enjoy doing together. It was so fun to meet them and capture their lives for something so big like this!
In June 2020 their profile went live with their adoption agency and started to be presented. Kylie and Will said the waiting is hard, you started questioning everything and wonder if you’ll ever be chosen.
On September 2, 2020 they received the phone call of a life time, they were chosen by a birth family! Kylie said it was the most exciting call she has ever received! Kylie said she tried call Will to conference him in and he want answering! She probably called him 10 times and sent him multiple 911 text messages in a matter of five minutes. The social worker told them a little bit about Sloane’s mother, father, and the pregnancy. They also found out she was due October 4th! They got to connect with Sloane’s birth mom and Kylie asked her what attracted her to them, she said, “I really liked your smiles!”
